Women Truck Drivers

Times have certainly changed. I am sure that most people envision males to be driving large trucks on the freeway or highway instead of women in the United States. It is a great monumental change that women are the influential factor in driving large, industry type trucks in the Midwest. It is becoming a more equality based business that allows both men and women to drive trucks for a living. That is great. Women are allowed to drive trucks and work the same number of hours as men. There was a recent study by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It showed that just only 11.4 percent of women or 2 million women workers are currently employed in the transportation and trucking industry. Women make up at least half of the current workforce for the trucking industry. There is another study by the American Trucking Association that shows a decrease of women in the trucking industry. According to their studies, women truck drivers only make up 5.1 percent of all truck drivers.

Trucking companies are welcoming more women to become a part of their lucrative and thriving trucking business. They have opened their doors for more women applicants to become truck drivers. It is a company that is located in the Midwest. It is a specialized truck carrier that transports time sensitive cargo that must be delivered on time and in good shape to the customer. The benefits for becoming a Trucking employee are excellent. Their incentive program includes: 1) Great home time policy, 2) Automatic payment policy and a friendly, comfortable and warm work environment that encourages hardworking employees.

The top 10 teams at trucking companies in 2016 made an average pay of $131,000 a year, and made seventy-six cents per mile along with earning two days for each week working. Trucking companies are known to hire teams of male and female drivers who pair with other family members as well. They highly encourage people who want to drive trucks for a career living and cooperative teamwork as well. Susan Hall plans to drive for her trucking company until she retires. Hall explains that it has a wonderful work environment. When she calls in to talk to a representative, they personally call her by her first name, which is a very special feeling for her. They are considered family. Check out Drive Armellini today!
